The LIMBAS Enterprise Server is designed to be used in an high profile environment. Compared to the LIMBAS Community edition it adds not only the required liability and certification but also several features which are only available in this product.

User Authentication

In an enterprise environment it is essential to use a user base for all applications. LIMBAS is capable to integrate its own user authentication into a LDAP or ADS based folder structure and because of that the maintenance of all the additionally required user objects is permitted.

Further, LIMBAS uses those techniques for all WebDAV and internal file requests too. Within the LIMBAS server environment the user will be mapped to a real system user and his rights are automatically maintained by the LIMBAS server, based on the central settings and configurations made in the system. This concept guarantees that a user can only access those information he is allowed to. All other objects are basically out of his scope and by that protected in various ways. 

Groupware Integration 

Groupware functionallity is a very unspecific term. Most applications mean an integrated calendar, mail system and other kind of communication tools with a groupware integrated system. LIMBAS brings this one step beyoned.

LIMBAS Enterprise Server supports the integration of existing groupware solutions such as Microsoft Exchange or Lotus Notes. Any kind of IMAP server can be integrated in the web-based look and feel of your application. Using e.g. email you can use LIMBAS to store and process all incoming client requests with special workflows. Instead of paying much to special workflow engines you can link your existing groupware solution and the powerful LIMBAS workflow engine together and integrate the groupware features into your web-based applications.

Reporting

Storing information is one side of the medal, using this information is the other side. The LIMBAS Enterprise Server comes with a strong and flexible reporting engine which allows various reports in PDF, XML or other formats. The individual character of your reports and the effective access controls make sure that your users see what they are supposed to see and managers are not overloaded with unneeded information.

Creating a nice management dashboard is nowhere as easy as with the integrated Report Designer that is boundled with the Enterprise server. The implementation of various designes prepared ,e.g. from your marketing department, can easily be used for the company monthly, quarterly or yearly reporting to your share holders and will create a positve impression if viewed in the same online look & feel.

Document Archiv

LIMBAS uses an external OCR recognition programm in order to recognise text automatically on the server. The functionalities are seamlessly integrated into the indexing process and allows a fully text recognition and indexing process. It is therefor very easy to make the text quickly available. The Enterprise edition also has an accelerated searchfunction for very large data sets.
